wow, i have to believe this good fortune is somehow related to the winter solstice or the lunar eclipse. i woke up this morning with some very exciting news:
“Eben Inc has been selected as the 2010 Best of Alabaster Award winner in the Automobile Tires & Tubes category by the US Commerce Association.”
i’d like to thank my mom, my dad, my entire family. all the people out there who have supported me. oh yeah, the man above, the man below, and that guy over there. ao, i couldn’t have done it without you. babe, this is for you.
sundays for the past ten years have been filled with the gentle sounds of men and women meeting on the street hockey court to do battle (and by battle, i mean drink beer and hit each other in the shins). so what better way to celebrate than with the 10 year hoodie, it’s got an X on the back, and a skull giving the finger on the front.
holy crap, my lil’ slate illustration became a meme (for a day or so. by the time some of you read this, you will have missed it). thanks to the genius work of @innyvinny to take the bird and hilarious-it-up (see the entire collection). i just thought i’d post a quick rundown of a few of my favorites:
update: just to set the record straight, the original #browntwitterbird is sporting an iphone4.
update2: npr. for realliously? still waiting for the daily show or colbert report. anytime now, gentlemen.
my spike drawing from last week is now available as a print, laptop sticker, iphone sticker or t-shirt. below is a highly detailed rendering of what it all looks like. (okay, okay, here’s the real one)
okay, how rad is this, through the glories of the internoodles, don masse found my work and had his 4th grade class do interpretations of my bike tuneup drawing. thanks don’s class, you have done me proud. actually, you’ve done a little too well . . . my original pales in comparison to your excellent renditions.
a couple of weeks ago, i was involved in a video shoot directed by john pavlus for NPR’s new android app. the idea behind the video is a stop-motion-whiteboard-style thingie, illustrating the community development of the app. it was a fun day, the shoot took place at ten ton studio in the brooklyn navy yard, and i got to hangout with a bunch of good looking hands. in case you’re curious, i’m the hand at the top right (the lefty, but you knew that) mostly drawing in the orange highlight field during the mass of hands segment (:41-:58).
it’s warm out, kids are biking, flowers are blooming, and with the help of my six legged vacuum friend, i updated my site. there’s new work, a spruced up navigation, a wee store, and of course this gussied up blog.
bike tuneup is now available as a poster, t-shirt, or laptop/ipod/iphone skin. eben guarantee™: if i see you sporting any of these items, i will give you a big hug. not some cheap mini-hug, side-hug, or man-hug, but a full on embrace, maybe even with a squeeze . . . and for multiple seconds. how can your resist this possibility!?
i’ve mentioned it quietly in the past, but now, it’s sell-out o’clock! . . . or at least a quarter past. anyway, making use of society6, amp-bear-sand posters, t-shirts, and laptop/iphone/ipod skins are now for sale. get’m while they’re hot or at least lukewarm.
