what’s online: sharing the wealth at MTV
viacom has pulled all it’s content off of youtube, sighting copyright violations, but has decided to post its content on it’s own terms. maybe an old dog can learn new tricks.

what’s online: don’t buy my book, just read it
seth godin wrote a book, made it available for free over the internet, and published under a creative commons license. under the license he showed, it allowed someone to come along, print the book and publish it. mr. godin didn’t have a problem with that, just that the book was stated as new, when in fact it was written in 2005.

what’s online: sites for the socially conscious
dotherightthing.com is a site that evaluates companies in a digg like fashion, allowing its users to grade companies based on articles posted over a 60 day period. as you might have noticed, do the right thing (the movie) not so subtly influenced my illustration.
