eben vs. the bicycle UPDATE

ao has been taking wonderful care of me, feeding me carrots, grapes, meds and chicken fingers (see, some fingers are worse off then mine), and above all, making sure that i don’t try to do too much and go and hurt myself. last thursday i had sugery on my left hand to get my middle finger pinned and healing in the correct direction, while my right hand is now in a removable splint and can be washed. i am upbeat and getting better and appreciate the support of friends and family, particularly pico, who has helped out many days without any reward (other than mets/phils tickets, highspeed internet and my nub company), thanks “hands.”

due to my left hand being all pastered up, check out this week’s righthanded drawings.

righty drawing

okay, i am hand obsessed, but that’s what you get. another drawing of my left hand done with my right (non-drawing) hand. i had surgery on my finger, hence the big cast, but the finger is now straight and healing (correctly). the south paw will be drawing again in no time.

eben vs. the bicycle

last wednesday i was in a bicycle on bicycle accident and my hands got broke up a bit (middle finger of my left hand broken, right hand fractured…boxer break), including the left (aka the drawing hand). updates may be a little slow for the time being as i heal and until i am able to work at the computer and drawing table more gooder.

now with photos!

eben vs. the bicycle

now with x-ray! this the middle finger on my left hand, and no, that’s not the direction my finger is supposed to be going.

x-ray

further explanation: i was riding on the williamsburg bridge, along came two approaching bicycles, one of which passed the other without looking for oncoming traffic (me!), and when i yelled and attemped to slow/get out of the way, the passing cyclist in his surprise veered more into my path. eben had nowhere to go, but pavement.

williamsburg bridge (motivation for drawing, at least)

friends, family and wealthy benefactors, eben had a wee run in while on his bicycle with another bicycle, hence the drawing of the left (drawing) hand as seen by the right (also damaged, but in a different way) hand…note the splint. please excuse the lack of updates while i heal. more sketches as i am able.
